It has been 499.99 for a while. Good deal if Replay stays in business (Despite its recent merger) .. and don't forget

With hard drive prices falling so much, it might be better off getting the 20 hour version for $200 less and adding in a nice 60-80 gb hd

499.99 is a OK price. Mercata was selling loads of them for around 499.00 but there was alos a mail in rebate for $100.00. As for the hacking 3020. That is for the brave ... Not like Tivo I heard. Here is some good info.Hacking Replay

Like I said ... If they stay around ... it is a great toy but if not it goes into the 8 track, beta, divx pile which is sad because like I said .. its a great toy.

Hey maybe someone shoud design a combo 8 track, Betamax, Divx machine. I bet you it would sell on E--Bay.

well it aint like the msn/passport deal with meracta (got my replaytv 3030 for $234 shipped!) but that's still not a bad price considering it includes a lifetime subscription. these have in fact come down in price lately as replay has been bought and they will be ceasing production of their own branded line (don't worry, other companies like panasonic will continue to make them.) as mentioned above, if you are handy you might want to consider getting a smaller capacity model (20 or 30 hour) and upgrade it with a 60 or 80 gb hard drive in a few months when the hard drive prices come down some more. if you need info on how to add a hard drive check out the replaytv forum at avsforum.com.
