LOL, reminds me of the comic strip that used to run monthly in The National Lampoon callled, "A One Year Affair". It chronicled the year long relationship of a guy and his blow-up doll (older technology, people made do, pioneer spirit and all, google it).

The whole thing was done dead-pan and had lines like, "She wasn't talking to me, I could sense something was wrong . . .".
