I'm surprised no one has posted this yet (If they have, ignore/delete/lock this post, my apologies):

Office Max has a 100 CD-R spindle by Imation for $29.99 - 80 minute, 12x. (They sell the 50 CD-R spindle for $24.99, beats me why they priced the 100 @ $29.99) For 100 CD-Rs and a good name brand (the only one I use) you can't really beat this.

For those who like pricematching with Staples, if you PM-ed it, bought 3 @ $29.99, then used a $25 off $75 coupon you'd get the 3rd one practically free. ($5 for 100 CD-Rs turns out to be $.05 per CD-R)

I got one today, too, but it's made in taiwan, green cds pretty crappy just looking at it, haven't burn one yet, anyone know how good these are? I think the better deal is at compusa, fujifilm 50pack 80mins for $20 and a $10 mail in rebate, so $10 after mir. that's a good deal.

LOL when me and my friends were at wally world, to quote the lady when asked which cd's were good: "well everyone seems to like these IMITATION (actual quote) cds". we did all we could to keep from laughing at her misnomer. anyway, i've never heard of any problems with imation cds.
peace out,
Fried

I think the imations made in Japan and the US are pretty good. The ones made in Taiwan aren't so hot.

I've gone through 3 100pk Imation spindles with very few coasters. The only coasters were the fault of the writer and/or my system not the media. I fixed the driver issue later (note: DO NOT use the VIA IDE drivers in Win98) and haven't had any more coasters. All of my discs were burned at 12x on a Sony 12x10x32x writer w/out burn proof. These work perfectly fine for me.

I bought these a while ago for $20 a spindle after coupon, but since they haven't gone on sale since, I bought the Kingston Hypermedia from Outpost. CDR ID says they are the exact same discs as Imation. If you don't need to order 300, just go get some from Outpost. Haven't had any coasters with the Kingstons either and I've gone through about 75 already.

Shoot, just got my stack of Imations from Staples. They are not the 12x part, but the 16x part. But still, they are Made in Tawian, and from CMC Mag. Corp. Phthalocyanine, 702.83mb max size.

I feel so ripped off....grrr

Did notice that the dye is very light on these disks...I've gone through 50 with about 6 coasters, but that could have been my fault. Personally, I like the deep blue dye to this light green dye, seems to work better...just an opinion, not based on fact.

I used nearly 100 of these 12x with 1 coaster and I think that was my screw up...the dye is light green ...my plex12/10/32 and acer10/8/32 loves them.

I know CMC are supposedly poorer quality but all the imation from the 8x(blue bootm) to 12x have been from them and the only coaster were my fault.

I recommend them..though the TDK certified plus are excellent media and 80 min are harder to find and more expensive.

Anyway this is my 2 cents

Just wondering about something...I can't get CDR Identifier to work with my burner (Imation 8X). It says "ASPI layer is outdated or not present." Any thoughts on what's the problem?
