Today, I went back to OM hoping to score on a bunch of those $8.99 50-packs of Kingston CDR's. Unfortunately, there was only 1 spindle left.

Worn out from my second straight day of disappointment, I grabbed a random pack of 100 CDR's listed at $34.99 and took them with me to the cashier explaining that I should get it for the same price as two 50 packs. She mentioned their guaranteed lowest prices policy and said she'd charge me double the 50 pack price without even blinking an eye.

i dont think so, if it is the exact same product but it is 50 pack and you decide to buy a 100 pack of the same type of cdr, it should be 2 x50 packs i feel. i dont think there is anything wrong with that

Well then you're lucky, the OM I went to would not substitute a 100 pack of the same cdr's. I did get on their raincheck list for the 50's.

Crap, the dudes at my OM also refused to do that. Bleh, didn't even bother with the raincheck...I never do.

How could something like this be fraud when the store manager could simply say NO. Just like PM on an item at staples or officemax or any other store. They can just say no and then I walk out of the store...I be P!ss off but if they say ok, then i'll be happy. :)

Okay, joke's gone on long enough. Sorry about that Aloha Boy.

What he was referring to when he said fraud was because I figured the cashier lady would charge me $18 but for whatever reason, when she handed me my credit card receipt, it said that she had charged me $10 instead.

Yep, 10 cents apiece for 80 min, 700 mb CD's without use of Pricematch or Mail in Rebates.

Still, I don't see it as fraud. Just me not running back in the store to tell on the lady.

Oh, and before anyone asks to see a scan of my receipt for Price-Matching, I wouldn't bother. It just says the item I purchased was called "MDSE" or general merchandise.

And that's my story. Sorry again Aloha Boy. I just couldn't help myself ;>

Both stores I went to had their shelves FULL of 50 pks.

I'm so tempted to buy more, but I already have plenty.

Went to my OM, bought last 2 spindles, asked for me they said they dont have any. Went back next day and there was a sign that they ran out, went to some lame manager he took the newspaper where the price was listed, he signed it and put some number on it and said to come back within 1 week. :)

I bought the 50 pack from OM B&M. They look like Imations or very close. They are made in Taiwan. The store I went to literally had probably a hundred spindles left. They did have a 100 pack, but not for cheap. The reciept states "Buy 1, Get Items for $9.00 off", 637668267508 CDR Spindle 80, 8.99. Orig. $17.99, store disc $off -9.00EA. 8.99 plus tax. I would have bought more but I already have clsoe to 300 blanks. They also had the HP's from Japan (TY's) for $19.99. Sears also has the 50 pack of HP's (TY's) on sale for $19.99. Good luck to all.
