Taken from fatwallet. All credit given.

"Free 100 pack cd-r, 8x-80 with any purchase at mei-microcenter ($7.44 after shipping)"

mei-microcenter
You have to call in over the phone to get the deal.
1-800-634-3478

Buy a cheap item. Search around the site. I found a cheap mouse holder for $0.99. Item number was 130625.

Then you add the free cds. Their item number is 071738. They don't show up online as valid, but they have them when you call in.

However, to validate the deal you will need a code, which I can't post here. All the other numbers are allowed since they are merely item numbers.

You can find that code at fatwallet.

I also saw this posted on DVD Talk. I searched here and found nothing, and haven't seen this posted. Good luck.
My total was $7.44 shipped. 5-7 business days. RPS.

I did this deal on Sat... they told me 5-7 days & I received the spindle today - only 3 days!

Anyway, they are 100ct Taiwanese Kingston Hypermedia 8x 80min silver/blue cdr's. I actually got 4 of these so far via friends & family, but I'm considering getting more since it's such a great deal.

Does anyone have any knowledge re: the quality of these cdr's? I know that Japan is generally considered better quality than Taiwan for cdr's, but I'm sure there are expection to that rule.

I have over 500 cd-r's on hand now, but it's so damn tempting!

The tops are silver & look the the bottom of an audio cd without any markings at all. The bottoms are blue. You can see through them if held up to a light though...

You don't even need the catalog code.... I called in without the code and I sat there with the person for a few tense moments. He still gave them to me. :)

I use Kingston Hypermedia 8x discs... if these are the same thing, they're great. They burn fine at 12x for me, and I just can't scratch their tops off... I took a nail to one to test and it wouldn't scratch its top! My TDK's that came with my TDK CDRW drive (buy.com 50pk spindle bundle) have their tops rub off just from me TOUCHING it with my FINGER even... the Blue-Bottomed Kingston Hypermedia are very good, however.

Good to hear they are good quality. The deal apparently goes until 3/31/01. So there is plenty of time to get in on this one. I'm not sure if you can do this more than once. I'll investigate after my order arrives.

The guy said by tomorrow they may be all gone, they are out of alot of the small ticket items (2 CD case is gone, I wanted something else but the guy on the phone mentioned the last 100 orders straight all asked for this first). They are hoping you buy more stuff from them in the future.

Now I just need free cd sleeves.

I just called up to see if they were in stock and they said they're backordered. I guess I'm too late... Apparently, their next shipment is in 2 weeks.

I think they should validate this offer until 3/31/01 like their advertisement states, even if that means providing the cds on backorder. However, I do not actually have the advertisement to see if there is any fine print saying *while supplies last.* The CSR told me the cd sleevs were sold out and on back order until 3/1/01 so I called back after I found the cheap mouse holder. It was the first cheap thing I found so I bought it quick.

Does anyone have better eyes than me to read the ad?

"also this promotion for the 100 Free CDRs is valid until 3/31/01 according to their ad."

Well, I went back and asked about the cdr's being in stock and they said yes. So I ordered a CDRW disc and my total came out to ~$9. I think I misinterpreted the salesrep when she said the $0.17 CD sleeves were backordered. Sorry about the confusion.

I just called up because I noticed the catalog says 'limit one per order.' I thought I would take a chance and see if I could place another order, but the CSR said she interpreted that to be one per order/per person/per household. I'm not complaining. I was just checking to make sure it couldn't be done.

Danm, I'm in Canada and I can't call them.

Could someone order me one spindle, and then ship it out to me? I can pay by paypal if you like.

Thanks.

Okay, the sales reps I have talked to are asking for "the offer code" /item num. They say that the item num #071738 is not what they want. Its the number on the yellow flag on the catalog page. I cant tell from the scanned pic in fatwallet. Can someone help me out with the number if they have the flyer. Thanks
