I am moving out on my own next month and that is the cheapest comcast package they have. I didn't realize how expensive television and internet is. Do I have any other options or am I pretty much screwed with that?

Makes me want to stay home but unfortunately the GF has different plans for us 🙂

Time Warner has their's including roadrunner (gimp'd speed), cable TV, and Internet Phone for $100/mo.

If you can't live without cable, then that's about all you'll find. Or get DSL for far less than cable but at a fraction of the speed... AT&T/SBC here has $14.99 internet but it's only about 1 meg down in comparison with RR's 5meg down
 
verizon fios just released gigabit internet in a very select test area. Expect price to go down or speedss to go up if you happen to get it where it rolls out.
 
You'll realize moving out on your own that pretty much everything is more expensive than you thought. Taking things for granted, FTL.
 
Yup, pretty typical...only reason mine is less is that I'm still in my promotional period...then again, I've been in my promotional period for almost 2 years now...just call them every time it's about to run out and threaten to cancel service 😀
 
Thats pretty good atctually. I have the full cable package with all the premium channels and 5mb down broadband(charter) and after all the fees and taxes it's $170mo
 
i just got comcast basic cable (78 channels) and 6 MB high speed for $36 a month for 6 months and then it goes up to $60 after that. add $175 in rebates and a free modem through comcastoffers.com and i would say that you are getting ripped off.

I was paying $135/month for cable internet & TV, I think I watched maybe 3 shows and spent the rest of the time flipping through the menus trying to decide what crap to let wash over me for the next 1/2 hr.

I cancelled that now I pay $25 for verizon. Cable is just not worth $1000+ per year

Thanks man, you are awesome. I went to comcastoffers.com and got that same package now for 66/month in my area for 6 months. You are saving me $34/month. Every bit helps. Thanks!
 
Drop the cable, it's just a massive waste of time anyway.

Basic + 8 MB Internet + an HD set-top rental for me is under $60 a month.
