It's been almost two years...I went from this:

to this:

in a matter of a few minutes...

I've since found a REAL barber instead of an estrogen-filled salon...and the goatee is gone.

My barber charges $10 for a haircut...and will rarely accept a tip. (he owns the shop)
We banter back and forth the whole time I'm in the shop...not quite to the degree seen in "Gran Torino," but almost...

He's a Korean War vet...and 80 years old.

When its something that doesn't cost much at all, and you are happy with the service, a 15% tip is cheap as fuck. $2 tip for a $15 haircut that you are happy with is fucking cheap. Borderline black/Indian person tipping territory, and you dont want to be lumped in with them when it comes to tipping.

I agree with this, though your gf being a hair stylist probably clouds your opinion somewhat.

I'm sure it does. She does say that to this day, only 1 black person has ever tipped her in 2 years of working as a stylist.

I remember the day it happened as if it were yesterday. It was a calm spring day, I was at my parent's house eating some food...my phone rang:

GF: "OMG you are NOT going to believe this!!"
Me: "You won the lottery????!!!!!"
GF: "No, I just got a tip from a black person!"
Me: "OMG no way! GRATS!!!!"

Bring back the goatee!!!

$35 is pretty cheap man, my old girl used to be $30, then changed salons and went to $40. I moved, tried to find another stylist close to me, and they all start @ $50, min

I found a decent barber that does it for $20, but definitely a noticeable difference vs $35/40

Holy shit. I pay $10 for a haircut.

Perhaps because my hair looks just as good or better when I give myself a $0 haircut than if I were to pay some hack loser "stylist" $50 to do it?

edit: BTW if your hair style is the difference between you getting laid or not, you have issues.

QueBert also believes that one needs to spend at least $100 on jeans to get laid. He's got issues. Serious issues.

I don't expect a stylist who has spent time and money to be professionally trained to work for <20/hr

For $10 he didnt go to a "stylist" he went and got a HAIRCUT. These are two very seperate things. haircuts don't take an hour either... more like 15mins so thats $40/hour for a barber doing haircuts.

I'm aware of the distinction, thanks

I've never had a haircut last "only" 15 mins since I was 16

I just bought a pair of $10 hair clippers and cut down to 1/2" every month or so. Averaged out my haircuts are like $0.50.

Something like this.

When you meet a woman and treat her well, perhaps how stylish your hair is shouldn't be a major factor in her decision to stay with you. I just cut my 10 year old nephew's hair last night and confided in him that a real man learns to cut his own hair and that the difference between a good hair cut and a bad one is about two weeks.

Not to insult your current haircut (I personally cut mine with a Flowbee three times a year, which translates into a blonde emollet) but I prefer your earlier one. The 80's look is awesome. <3

I think you're talking about non-hot women. Like most people on ATOT, we all want 10/10 girls. How good you look is the major determining factor for most of them, and thus your hair style is a major determining factor.

You don't need to spend anything to get laid, but if you're trying to get laid and not enter a long term relationship. You won't get any if you're wearing Walmart jeans, I don't care how smooth you are. If you club they won't even let you in the door with Walmart jeans, so the places I go, no you won't get laid without nice jeans. The hotter the woman the better you have to look, and hair/clothing make all the difference in the world. If you're happy fucking 3's & 4's by all means keep wearing $15 jeans and getting $8 hair cuts. If you want better you have to step up your game. I spend $25 on my haircut, but that includes a shave and line up of my beard. $25 for what takes basically 45 minutes isn't expensive at all.

Pics? I bet you're hot.

I'd have thought he had posted them on AT before. :/ Maybe the stud thread.

There's only a couple hunks of smooth, sensual chocolate that post here (NFS4 and classy coming immediately to mind (oh, and amdhunter)) so I would remember what he looks like had he done so.

None of my haircuts ever go for 15 minutes or less, that I can think of. If they last less than that, usually I think the person probably did a shitty job and was too hasty.

i just can't imagine getting a haircut that lasts that long. a stylist maybe, but i've never had my hair "styled" before.

Depending on the hair, putting the gel or cream or paste or whatever it is in your hair usually the quickest thing of the haircut. It takes them like 30 seconds... I think it depends on the hair style.
