Called in, I got rejected 🙁

CSR Said: too many credit inquiries within the past 6 months (will have to check on that), not enough money market, investment, and checking accounts (i only have 1 checking account), not enough utilization of my credit lines (they require something like 40% of your credit limits)

Darn. I should wait at least a year before applying for anything again...

i applied, got rejected and i called in to see why. they said because i didn't meet the minimum annual household income requirement. screw you, i don't want your stupid 100$ GC anyway!

... yes i do 🙁

Wait, one of the reasons that they turned you down was because you weren't carrying ENOUGH debt? Thats a new one to me. 😕

Wow... I've never been turned down for a credit card app before... but tonight I was turned down 3 times, not because of my credit, but because NONE of the 3 CSR's that I spoke to knew what offer I was referring to. After speaking to a supervisor who also did not know what I'm referring to, I cut my losses to 30 minutes of wasted life.

If anyone has faced the same issue or is successful, please post.

funny..have had credit cards for years... about 2 years ago paid them all off.... big money... got rid of all of them... anyway, i heard about a $30 offer from amazon if you sign up, so i applied thinking i could get a new keyboard and save a few bucks and then ditch the card... after i submitted enrollment it said that they would have to review it further....go figure... must need some credit card debt to get one....

From what I remember if you do not have some type of constant payment like a car or CCs you "good" credit history gets erased every couple of years

i have yet to see the points applied to my card. How long have those who were successful have to wait for points to be applied?

I got mine today.

Here's the skinny: The points are deposited (after 2 billing cycles) to your account at: thankyourewards.com

Text

You need to set up an account there, if you haven't done so already.

You get 10,000 points which can get you gift cards with a value up to $100. (I got one Target and one Home Depot $50 G.C.)

If you cannot find your points, call 1-800-773-3336 and they will straighten things out.

Good luck, and thanks OP!

I received an application in the mail for this CC. Saw someone talking about it here so I applied and got the card. Made a purchase, called one of the CSRs and they told me to wait until my first statement to order the gift card, got the first statement and noticed a website. This is the website you have to go to once you actually have the card:

Citi Thank You

Once I logged in it showed that I had the 10,000 points and had the option of using them on actual prizes (such as video games, other random stuff, or the gift cards). Ordered a $100 gift card and the website tells me it will be here in up to 8 weeks, seems to be legit. Pretty sweet deal, $100 for free... I'm pretty sure the credit card companies can afford something like this after preying on credit card holders for the past who knows how many years!

The funny/sad thing is I havn't even got my points added yet :-(...is there a minimum amount your "first purchase" has to be or something? I know citibank's legit so I'm not too worried, but $100 gc would be nice!

ass kickage.

I only received 5k points... so i called at&t and the dipsh1ts want me to fax in the form where it said 10k points..

I called the points redemption center.. after 2 minutes on the phone she fixed it right there 🙂

already chose Bestbuy $100 gc 🙂

yay 🙂 here i come new ps2! or.. maybe not ;D

Is this deal still available? I need a couple of more credit cards (long story).

I believe it is. I'll check our Sunday newspaper.

I just called the # on the ad and when I mentioned the AT&T Universal Rewards offer they referred me to another 800 number (800-66-apply)

Anyone else get this?

OOPS. I just noticed what date the OP was made... In that case, has anyone *recently* applied?

BTW, I did finally get my $100 GC...good ol' Exxon Mobile card, paid for my commute for a couple weeks. They credited me 5600 at first, called, then they fixed it...not sure if the deal's still on, but other ones come in the mail alot.
