100 gb email account!!

EDIT 1: According to the company site, you have to pay $5 for membership which includes the 100 GB account. But, the free email is 10 gb. Sorry.

if only an email provider had upped their limit to 10 MEGABYTES back in the day that wouldve taken off like crazy. a deal with 10 gigabytes seems unreal. what kind of mail do they expect you to get?

Well if you think about it, they can pretty much claim anything since not everyone will be using the full 1, 10 or 100 gig amount.

In a challenge to demonstrate the size of the account, he said that he would challenge readers of Tom's Hardware Guide to fill up the complete account with data. "The first user who is able to use the complete space will receive from us a free email account with one TByte space on a dedicated server," Weiss said. "This will be the worlds largest email inbox."

1, 10 or a 100GB, what's the difference if you can only send a few MB at a time? 😉

We wanted to do something 'hellacious' and came up with the idea to offer 100 GByte and allow users to send attachments in sizes up to 500 MByte."

Awww, well that's different.

Send & receive message size limit is what it's all about.

"The first user who is able to use the complete space will receive from us a free email account with one TByte space on a dedicated server" ?? So 200 messages with 500 MB attachments gets you an account? 🙂

But hm... you could upload 500MB worth of personal crap at a time though and have it accessable from anywhere.

So just to set things straight, you're saying it's free 10 GB with 500MB send & receive message size limit? $5 is only if you wish to get the full hundred GB?

all of my photos and music don't even take up 10GB and I wouldn't want that posted publicly. Geez, anything to draw attention to a free email, get you hooked and then start charging later 🙂

It I can access it via FTP and you have a T1 or faster internet connection?

Are you going to be in business for 50+ years?

Just what is the point - 1Gb is good - but 10Gb+ just seems like a marketing stunt.

How can a company give you 10Gb (or even 100Gb) without stuffing it full of adverts - I am much happier with a few hundred megs and NO adverts!
