Anyone got a pointer for cheap but decent CD-RW media? 4x is fast enough but whatever is available is cool!
 
Well I went ahead and picked up the 50 pack of 4x CD-RW media. Looks ok. I'll go test a few tomorrow. I really like using packet cd writing (DirectCD) on the Windows computers at school and work so I can bring home the large downloads where the 56k modem reigns supreme. Which is just a long way of saying I don't really care about the speed of the media all that much...

Unfortunately they are only 650mb discs. I almost put them back. Hrm...
 
went to OM yesterday, resisted the temptation and just got the fuji's. theres a $10 off a 50-pack for those with mountains of blanks already. or the $18 off 100.

Senior member, eh? Kind of a newbie question. Nevertheless ...

Usually the Cendyne rebates take awhile (4-6 months sometimes) and a couple phone calls, but they'll eventually come. Mine always have. The bank is something like "The East Bank of the Mississippi" (or some such arcane name) with an airport address. But they cash OK.

In this particular case, the $30 rebate goes to Miami (RebatesHQ -- maybe on the web, and maybe not). And so does the $10. RebatesHQ (not the rebate carrier for Cendyne last year) has always come thru for me, so I'd be willing to take the plunge. Of course, copy everything. Since both rebates want the original UPC, *usually* the real UPC goes to the more expensive rebate (at least in my book). If you have a copy, and an explanation about two rebates, you shouldn't have a problem -- at worst you'll have to make one call 8 weeks from now, and possibly have to fax in your copy.

BTW in the response to the rebate question, I got my OfficeMax February Rebate check today.
 
Just a heads up, if anyone has any of that free money in their MSN Wallet from the promotion in December, OM accepts those as payment. I ended up getting all my purchase for free before rebates this way.
