i signed up for this a couple of months ago. this reminded me to check and see if the $100 has been credited yet.

It does not like my version of firefox though
You're using a browser or operating system that can't take advantage of all the features at citibank.com. For the best online experience, here's what we recommend you use:

It says Firefox 1.0 or higher, i am using 1.5.0.12

at what point in the sign up procedure do you input that code? There's an "offer code:" box at the very beginning... is this the one?

Why would opening a savings account hit my credit report? I'm not applying for credit, just setting up a place to keep my money.

You do not need to maintain any balance and you will not be charged a monthly fee if you don't have $500 in the account contrary to the OP's post.

Lastly, it seems you have to at least fund the account $1 within the first 30 days to receive the bonus

what does a hard pull on credit report mean?
If you look at your credit report, there will be "hard" inquiries that are designated as being visible to any institution that views your credit report. Then there are normally numerous "soft" inquiries that are designated as being visible only to you and thus having no practical impact.

"Hard" inquiries have some effect on your FICO score.
The description I've heard is that you can expect a 10 point decrease in your FICO score for 3 months due to a hard inquiry. Then between 3 months and 6 months of elapsed time, the impact goes from 10 points down to 5 points. After a year of elapsed time, the impact is zero. (Note that this is on a FICO score that ranges from 300 to 850.)

Here, in the June 30th blog posting, you can read the gory details of approximately how your FICO score is calculated:

Hmm...I signed up with the code, and there was no mention of $100 anywhere at all during the transaction. Are we sure this is still good?

Yes it is good til the end of the month.

anyone know if I would get the money if I open a joint account with my dad?

I have never been a citi customer, but my dad may already have or in the past had an account.

This was in the terms and agreements:

I dont understand why it takes a hit on your credit report...when it IS just a savings account.

EDIT :

bullet I authorize you to obtain a consumer report in connection with the application, opening, update or renewal of any loan or deposit account I apply for or open and I understand that you may obtain such reports.

bullet I also authorize you to use these consumer reports to consider me for other programs with Citibank. Upon request, you will inform me if a consumer report has been obtained and will give me the name and address of the agency furnishing the report.

Has anyone done this yet and got the $100. How did you fund it? Online? Phone? Etc?

I did a $50 deal and funded it via inter-institutional bank transfer. Basically typed in some routing numbers and verified another bank account. Then did a transfer.

wow so there really is no catch? just open the account, put a dollar in it, and voila?

ugh, i've been lurking long enough I guess, might as well give back.

I opened an account, transfered exactly $1 from a bank account and got $100 reward last week.
