$100 for a cronut...

Local place has been doing something similar for years now. It's croissant shaped though, glazed, and then drizzled with chocolate. I can't imagine that this cronut thing tastes much different. Definitely not $98.95 better.

I agree with the bakery, something has to be done about scalpers. They're getting more brazen all the time. I've started to notice scalpers are actually setting up shop, filling buildings full of food they bought and they gouge people, charging far more than those hungry people would have paid if they had purchased it directly from the farmer.

Damn those supermarkets!

My buddy just waited in line for 3 hours to get one, said they were awesome. Not sure if they were worth the wait, but it was an experience. He said people are waiting outside the bakery offering $30 cash per cronut to people coming out. There was also a non-cream-filled Cronut called the DKA, which he said he liked even better.

Idiot foodies (snort).

I'd rather have an almond paste or jam filled croissant myself.

The biggest problem with trends usually isn't the trend-setters, it's the followers who want to feel like a part of something. Real foodies wouldn't pay $100 for something like this just because it's popular, real car guys spend more money on the engine than the exterior, and real sports fans follow their team even when they're not doing well.

It's all of the idiots who are too insecure to find their own hobbies, and instead want to jump on the bandwagon, that ruin everything.
