it sstupid for people to pay for anything that costs less then 50$ with a C note. i know a lot of places that dont take 50's or 100's because they are to hard to break and they cant give them change because they will have nothing left.

I work as a grocery store cashier, and I get people paying with hundreds for under $10 worth of stuff... deal with it, some people use big bills.

Also, that lady could be someone who doesn't trust the banks because of the depression?? I had a great grandma like that, she actually did the $$ under the mattress thing ;)

Never seen one of those before, never knew they even existed in Canada.

They won't for long - in fact, any that the bankers get they're now ordered to destroy. :Q

A K note is a hell of a tempting piece of bait for counterfeiters. If you've got one, hang on to it. Frame it. :D

Frame a K note!??! That's one hell of an expensive wallart :)

What surprised me about the old guy was that he made a fuss about it, and drew some attention to the fact he had $1000 on him in cash and the store wouldn't take it. He left the store without buying anything, someone could have been tempted to followed him and well you know the rest...

You could sell a US $1000 bill in halfway decent shape for $1200 or more to many coin dealers.
