Yes, it works great for some people.
I disagree with the statement about it not being a religious organization, but I'll stop there.

There's a huge difference between spiritual and religious.

Congrats!

I'm a teatotaler myself. After my Dad's death I sunk myself into heavy gambling and boozing. Last September I said enough is enough, and I quit drinking that day. Fortunately, I was lucky enough to be able to do it cold turkey and by myself. I'm glad that there's AA for those that need a helping hand.
