100% CPU usage with Win NT 4 and Netscape 4.7

For some reason, I get 100% CPU usage on the task manager when trying to open certain web pages, such as BetaNews or Windows98 Central, with Netscape Communicator 4.75.

I'm running Windows NT 4.0 with service pack 5 installed. Internet Explorer 5.0 opens these pages in a fraction of the time. Also, Netscape takes forever to start up. I've tried disabling Java, but it didn't make a difference. I also have automatic graphics loading disabled most of the time.

I'm stuck with Netscape because its corporate policy. :frown: Anyone else noticed these problems? Is there a tweak?

Basicly you are kinda stuck waiting, netscape for some reason takes longer to do javascript and I think that it is slower at parsing and displaying HTML as well, not a whole lot you can do about it except for wait. As far as it taking longer to load that is because IE is basicly built right into the operating system and is kinda half loaded all the time, where as netscape has to load everything thing all at once. So if you are stuck using netscape you could maybe try netscape 6 (I think it is on preview 3 now) but then that still isn't finished. Hope that helps a little, but who knows there may be a way to fix it that I don't know about. I mean realisticly I claim to know about .02% of the stuff out there so there might just be.
