100 cdr spindles 32x Spinx free after MIR

I picked up a SpinX 50-pack free after rebate yesterday. I haven't tried them out yet (my 40/12/48 burner hasn't arrived yet from Dell.com). They don't have any labels or protective coating on top from what I can tell. I bought a 12x set like this from CompUSA about a year ago, but they worked just fine...in fact, I'm still using some of those CD's to this day.

nice find... should i search for this online, or go to the b&m?

btw: i think its interesting that the two of you joined AT at the same time... and i still can't get over your 24k posts, NFS4

How are these discs? I have heard rumors that they are not coated on top, leaving the data "film" very vulerable to peeling/chipping.

If you did not get yours this morning, I would not plan on getting your hands on any. I got to my store 10 minutes after they opened and I got the last spindle.

If there's no protective film on top, these are probably not all that great (hence, of course, the low "price" of tax). The actual information layer is much closer to the label side than the other, so these cd's sound very susceptable to damage/corruption.

Or i could just be dead-wrong. Who knows?

did anyone choose to purchase these cd's from the website and printout the rebate online?
Is OM usually pretty reliable w/those types of MIR purchases?

<< If I didn't already have a bunch of blank ones I'd be tempted 🙂 >>

Tell me about it. By the time i run down my stash, DVD burners will be the norm. 😕

I've been using them for about a month. They have been relatively trouble-free, but if you forget to write on them you can't tell which side is which. They are very thin, and I "feel" more confident with TDK, but I have no objective complaints.

I just burned an Imation 4x cdr with my TDK burner at 12x. It came out fine, all data intact etc. Just seeing this deal makes me wonder......is it hit or miss with which media can be burned successfully at higher than their rated speeds? PM me your thoughts too, thanks....

<< anybody know where spinx is made? if its TY? >>

I think they are made in Taiwan, and NO, they are NOT Japanese TY's.

they made seem to work fine for a few days but after a week or so, it become unreadable. Which IMO is not worth the extra speed in the long run.

Weird... but I'm using my TD 16x CDR's in my new 40x liteon and they seem to work just fine... burning at 32x... don't wanna push with 40.
