Just got the Sundays ad for the week of 8/24-8/30. Noticed this deal at Office Depot. Basically its buy one 50pk ($11.87) get one free deal. These are Imation brands and absolutely no rebates involved. Mail in Rebates sucks.




btw, if anyone don't need or care for their reward points, I'd appreciate it if you PM me yours if you get these Imations. Thanks in advance. 🙂
 
i use to like Imation when they had the gold discs. 8x rated ones.

now what they come out with are garbage.

The only brands I trust are

Fuji ( Taiyo ) HP ( Taiyo ) and TDK (Taiyo) and Mitsumi (No clue who makes it but it's good)

good for knuckleheaded friends that shove them in their back pocket and then sit on them in their state of drunkenness...

I won't touch Fujis anymore. I bought a 50 pack of them and I would say that the last 10 or 15 CDs I've tried out of the 50 pack have not worked. It will burn part way through and give me an error. Doesn't matter what speed I use. I've tried it from 16x to 48x. I can take another brand and it works flawlessly, so it must be the drive. Drive is a 48x TDK. Might have to jump on this one. Wish I had an OD closer though. I wonder if Wal-Mart, Staples, or OM carry them. They're all closer to me.

yes there is a limit only 1 per person which = 2-50 pks (48X) . I took my dad so got 4-50pks for $24.00. 🙂

Also these dont have the those (rip?) codes for points? Unless its inside were you cant see them now. Kinda sucks.
 
I have used Fuji Memorex Verbatim and Imation.

I prefer Imation over all since no crap on their disc and very nice for writing on.
I have never had a problem with Imation burning 400+ cds. This is a great deal I am on my way to get them now.

I bought a 100 pk Imation a few weeks ago. They are CMC and they are crap. Over 15000 C1 errors on a full CD. My TY Fujis have about 400 C1 error on a full disk. I wouldn't use these imations to store anything important.
 
I bought 400 from my local Office Depot in one trip. The advertisement had the 1 offer per customer limit but the in-store display didn't have it. I took home 2 cases (4 spindles each), basically buy one case, get one free. The girl was a little flustered and pressed the discount button too many times and I ended up getting all of them for $41, hahahaha. It ruled. I should be set until I get my Plextor 8x DVD+R when it comes out in a few weeks.

Also, these discs burn on my 52x Plextor at 52x with no problems. Never had a media incompatibility with any hardware, never burned a coaster, etc. I've probably used over 1000 of these things. Not TY discs but they're cheap and like one person said, nice to write on.
 
Nice deal.. but what the hell do you people burn? It takes me months and months to go through just ONE 50pk spindle. Is there really THAT much porn out there? 😛

I am not saying I do it, but most S/VCDs released today are at least 2 and sometimes 3 cds, and there is on average 2 good movies released a week, so 2 movies x 2.5 CDs x 4.5 weeks in a month = ~23CDs a month. Now, if you burn every movie that comes out that might even be half decent, then you would be doing 7-10 a week at 2.5CDs a piece and that is more like 80-100 CDs a month, and at current CD-R prices, why not? The only problem is finding the time to watch all these movies 😉
