well, if you don't mind spending a few more bucks, costco has a set of 500 chips, 2 decks of cards, 5 dices, and a metal carrying case. $80.

i vote for those Nevada Jacks... they look cool, plus the designs they have on the sides of the chips will look cool when stacked :)

The chips have the suits on them around the edges, and come in white, blue, green and red. I weighed them and they weigh about 7.3g each. The feel is of a lighter clay chip.

Are these the right ones, and if not, how much do the others weigh?

These came out to be 0.11 per chip, with tax.

Thanks.

nope..the better ones are labled "heavyweight"...not "professional weight"

Are the heavyweight ones more than 7.3 g each? The ones I got also came in a square tin, and also are red, blue grean and white, with suited pattern. I'm guessing they are the same as the OP posted. Can anyone weigh the chips they got?

They are not as nice as 11.5g chips, but given that I could buy 500 for $50, they are tempting. Costco has a very nice set of 11.5 g chips for $80, but I can't remember how many chips. (They have 500 chips, with a nice case., or 16 cents per 11.5g chip) before tax.

the only difference in the box I got was that it doesn't say 11.5g on the lower right side.

you're not going to find clay chips that are 11.5g ANYWHERE for 16 cents per chip. Many many many places advertise their chips as 11.5g, but most end up being plastic chips with a weight inserted (that don't even end up weighing 11.5g).

How do you really tell which chips are clay, and which are composite with insert? Some chips say "coated with ABS" that is plastic, correct? Can clay be coated with ABS?

I'm still curious if anyone who got the OP chips can weigh them and tell me what they weigh. Anyone with an ounce or gram scale? 10 of the chips I bought weigh 2.6 ounces, or 7.3 g apiece.

Anyone out there????

I have the 4 tins from TRUs of the Cardinal chips in question ($9.99 per tin of 100). On my trusty digital postal scale samples from each of the tins weigh 7.3g each, random batches of 10 all weighed in at 73 grams....I also tried a batch from the larger ($19.99) tin from TRUs -- the Texas Hold Em tin, which comes with a felt and cards and a small holder and 200 chips -- these batches of 10 randomly weighed 74 or 75 grams. I mixed colors in some batches...nearly all batches of 10 came out at 74 grams -- except batches of all red chips which were 75 grams.

They are 39mm in diameter.

Thanks ECartman. So it looks like I grabbed the right chips after all. Thanks a lot.
