Spending $40 on Ebay won't get you much. The shipping on most of the chipsets is like $40 or $50 or more alone. They seem like great deals until the shipping kicks in.

I went to Toys R last night and all the poker chips were cleaned out. There were more than a dozen on the shelf when this thread started. The AT effect strikes again.

5stardeal.com has a special on their 11.5g poker chips, $0.17 each. Combine that with free shipping over $99, and you can get a good deal. Last week I received 1000 11.5g chips and a hardside aluminum case for $145 shipped. I couldn't find them any cheaper on ebay, and I was able to pick my own colors.

I play on Pacificpoker and Partypoker and have a ton of money to flop around. Maybe I'll put some into Aztec for the free chips. Thanks.
Anyone else done this deal?

I want to echo 95SS. 5StarDeal.com definitely has the best deals. For only $50 you can get 300 chips and an aluminum case. Sweet deal man, thanks.

5star has a really great deal, $0.07 per chip on their misprinted chips. If you don't mind the flaws, this could be a great value/deal.

Just as an update to this thread. I needed to get some poker chips for an impromptu match and Target had these same chips for $4 a tin.

Edit: I should say that these are the Cardinal ones that aren't stripped and aren't that great of quality. But I got 400 for $16 so they will hold me over until I get my clay set.

The verdict-- the 100 chip set is the better chip. :) Threw some on the postal scale to get 8 oz of chips-- then chips from the 200 and holder set... the 100 chip set is "Heavyweight" and takes approximately HALF of the chips from the "Professional weight" 200 chip set. They're heavier, and more clay or ceramic feeling.

On both chips you can see an injection mold spot on the inner ring. On the 200 chip set chips, you see a heat flare by it on most chips. On the 100 chip set, it's a clean break, much nicer looking.

The chips are identical in size though. They are both visually similar too-- solid color Red, White, Blue or Green-- with NO white marks on the edges (contrary to what it shows in the web site), and have the suits printed around the outer perimeter on both sides. The ink does appear to be brighter, or thicker, on the 100 chip set.

There is also a Texas Holdem set available with Felt and another brick looking holder for $20, but it's the "Professional weight", or lighter chips. Hope this helps! Looks like the 200 rack is going back. :) lol

Just got back from TRU. I already had a set of the 100 chips in a tin from BN, and was impressed with the quality. I discovered that they didn't have any of the 100 chip tins, but had the two different kinds of 200 chips and holders.

The first comes with a nice, wooden holder that revolves and has a brass looking handle. Comes with two decks of cards. The other set comes with a plastic, non-revolving (cheaper) holder felt, and one deck. However, the chips in the set with felt were in my experience the same ones that came in the 100 tin. The ones in the wooden holder were the cheaper looking and feeling ones.

So I guess an acronym of advice is YMMV, as usual. Also, my BN didn't have any chips at all.

My local Walgreens has these sets for 9.99 and (lightly) used playing cards from casinos for .99- nice setup for cheap if you don't need the felt. The chips even came with the rules for Texas Hold 'Em, and the case has an insert for storing the chips so you really don't need a case IMO.

i don't know how it works but this maybe how you want to get your chips if you wanted to gamble anyways

it works on a point system. in order to get the chips you need to make a certain deposit amount and then either, play a certain amount of hands, paly a certain amount of money, or gain a certain amount of player points which are based on the 1st 2 things.

I would so be all over that ecasino deal, except that pacific poker has an incredibly strict definition of comped hands. You must bet *AND* see the flop. That's just ridicluous, the standard definition is any hand your at the table where the rake is over a certain (almost gaurenteed) amount.

Ok, more on that ecasino deal? Any of those comped sites offer craps? It's really easy to meet some of those conditions in craps since you have a 50/50 shot with under/over.

Reading this thread, I am totally confused. I picked up a tin box Labeled Professional Poker Chips at Walgreens for 9.99. The maker is Cardinal. The chips have the suits on them around the edges, and come in white, blue, green and red. I weighed them and they weigh about 7.3g each. The feel is of a lighter clay chip.

Are these the right ones, and if not, how much do the others weigh?

These came out to be 0.11 per chip, with tax.

Thanks.
