I also bought these, 2 tins of the 'heavyweight' chips for $9.99 each. There were some still left on the shelves, but the cashier said that they had been selling pretty well lately.

Thanks for the heads-up on this one. Grabbed 2 tins of the 100's and they're of very nice quality. Weight is a hair or two less than Atlantic City chips, but for the casual player, they're a huge upgrade from crappy plastic chips, and certainly a better value than $60-$80 on EBay.

Mid Alabama here, Im going check out TRU today!!

I bought a case and 500 chips with several packs of casino cards for about $150 last year. I need another couple hundred chips and this would be perfect for what I need.

Although they're not the cheapest, I have to recommend Gambler's General Store for a very wide selection, plus the ability to have custom chips made. I live in Las Vegas, and have spent way too much $$$ there over the last year.

Keeping my eye on their poker tables... ;)

Won $53 at our weekly Texas Hold'em game last night. Might have to put those winnings toward some chips! It might lessen the anger of the other guys next week. :)

Hello All,

I bought both the Holdem Tin (with the felt liner) with 200 Chips and the "Heavyweight" Chip set. I can't tell the difference between the chips. Could someone please clarify that they are indeed different. One of these must go back. Thanks.

Purchased a set of the 100 Poker Heavyweight chips for $9.99 that came in a tin. They are of OK quality, definitely not even close to a decent 11.5g chip. They are however, better quality than the cheap plastic old Hoyle chips that people remember. There was no stamp of a 11.5g advertisement on the tin I purchased, so I'm not sure if there are more than 1 variation of the tin.

I did see the Professional Poker 200 chip set for $19.99 as well. When I opened the package, they did seem a bit lighter than the heavyweight series.

Still though for the price, I really can't complain. Thanks for the post and info.

Don't mean to dredge up an old topic, but check your local Barnes and Noble stores too. They carry the same Cardinal chips and you can use a membership card combined with printable coupons from FW for additional savings.

Since this was bumped back up, just throwing up my final thoughts-- I returned all of the TRU chips after I splurged for the Ebay chips. The 11.5g chips from Ebay are a tremendous improvement and a huge step towards the casino feel. Wound up getting 1000 chips and the acrylic 100 chip brick holders from Ebay for $103 shipped. VERY good quality, and very happy with the product. Can't speak for all the sellers, but the guy I bought from was a 'legend' in his seller name. :) (even have a nice embossed set of dice between each white hash mark!)

If you're just playing casual, get the Cardinal Heavyweight chips for $10 a tin. If you take your games seriously and want that extra something on poker night-- grab the Ebay chips. But for the money, stay away from the Cardinal Professional Weight. :) Happy hands!

A friend picked up two tins of these and they're not bad at all for the money.

The best deal I've seen out there is from PokerSourceOnline. They have an AMAZING deal where if you sign up with Aztec Poker through them and play 250 hands, you not only get $50 free from Aztec Poker, but they'll also mail you 300 professional grade 11.5g poker chips, 2 decks of casino cards and 5 dice in a NICE aluminum case. I just completed the promotion a couple weeks ago and it went extremely smooth. In fact, I ended up only losing $20 in the 250 hands, so I cashed out with $30 ahead of the game!

They also have similar offers with other casinos. I just received the World Poker Tour Season 1 DVD set ($99 value) FREE for joining another online casino through them--plus I made $20 on that one.

Anyway, worth checking out. Best deal I've seen for joining an online poker room on the net...PLUS a FANTASTIC poker chip deal. Their forums show just how good their customer service is. Check it out!

"Deposit a minimum of $100 into your NEW Aztec Riches Poker account" -- eh, that seems to be the only major issue JuryDuty.

I play on Pacificpoker and Partypoker and have a ton of money to flop around. Maybe I'll put some into Aztec for the free chips. Thanks.

Picked up the $20 chips/holder from Toys R Us last night. Not bad, seems to be of decent quality and chips are decent (better than pure plastic). The deck of cards they give you are crap, but oh well.

I think I've figured out the difference between the cardinal chips. I called the company and asked them to compare the Holdem Tin (with felt liner) to the box of 100 heavyweight chips and they said the chips in both sets are the same. I've bought both when this thread first emerged and found that they do indeed feel like the same weight. However, if you buy the cardinal set with the wooden chip carousel (the same price as the holdem set), you get similar looking, but lighter chips. These chips are inferior in quality to those in the 100 box or the Holdem Tin and are about half the weight as mentioned in an earlier post. Please be aware of this. I've not called the company to confirm this, but it's pretty obvious.

To confuse matters even further, Cardinal has now changed the way they label all their poker products, so everything could be different but I think the rules above still hold. I saw the new labels at Toys R Us. Gone are "professional weight" or heavy-weight, now it says something else. Hope this helps. :)

How much is the shipping cost? I don't want to enter all my information and found out that they charged $15 for two deck of cards. Thanks.
