Its all over the news down here...

LINK to article.

I still remember waitin out that storm. Sitting up all night hearing the 150+ mph winds whipping past my house for 7 hours. God that night sucked.

never really went through a hurricane in h-town while i lived there. was on vacation in ohio when alicia hit. thats about it.

I live down south where it really blew houses apart....i can still remember walking out and seeing my neighbors car CRUSHED by roof tiles....

I remember watching that on the news. Worst we ever had here that I went through was when Elaina came close in the 80s.

It was kind of weird during the eye of the storm. Dead silence...except for the sloshing of the alligators and snakes in the street, of course.

I was there, living in Kendall (Devonaire)
Had lots of friends in Homestead, went down there the day after, what a mess, looked like WW3. My friend that was staying with me during the whole thing, his house was GONE, we pull up to his house, roof was blown away, a telephone pole on his Honda CRX and two little mexicans stealing his stereo and steering wheel....haha, that was fun chasing them down....POW....BLAM....blood, ouch....now get out of here!
What's wierd is, I had no power or water for 2-3 weeks, but I had phone service the entire time.
Like in the middle of Andrew, my phone was ringing, my mom calling to see if I was ok, I was too scared to get out of the bathroon to answer it. 😛
Hurricanes are NO JOKE!

Interesting fact: if it hit miami instead of homestead, state farm would have gone bankrupt because they had no reinsurance.

I think i remember hearing that if the Hurricane had ripped through a major city like Miami or something...that State Farm would've had to file for bankruptcy.
