Heh, I think I know a couple people in real life that probably could've scored a full 800 on the math section of the SAT when they were 10...
lol...i was thinking the exact same thing when i saw the title
Bingo. The math section of the SAT is incredibly easy.
The verbal isn't that hard either.
What were your scores?

It doesn't matter for college much anyways. There is this one Asian (Of Course) girl in my IB classes. She has a 4.0GPA (No weight at our school), 2400 SAT's, 800's on all subjects, and she is going for IB Diploma. She applied to all the good schools. Surprise surprise she got rejected from MIT. These days numbers only go so far.

Scoring a perfect on a standardized test for High Schoolers at 10 years old is impressive.

If it did it purely on his own, that's very impressive, but most likely his parents have been training him. I think that it's very possible for a child that young to know and understand algebra 2 and trig, provided he's been taught them. Children are quite good at learning, and our school system does a disservice to them by assuming they can't handle more than they're given. Just because most adults would struggle through algebra doesn't mean that a kid couldn't understand it.
This kid will probably end up being just a math professor though.
I took the SAT in 7th grade and got an 1100, I believe I had a high score on the verbal section (reading internet forums must have given me the ability to decipher poorly written information) but my math score was a bit low. Not too surprising though, I was only part way through algebra 1 if anything.
