I've been to that mountain on my way to Sipidan. I don't recall there being a sign warning you to behave or face the wrath of the gods but I could have missed it.

As an aside though they charge a boat load of money to trek that peak. So everyone when I was there gave the Malaysians the middle finger and snuck in at dark. So they could be pissed off about not only that but the naked dance at the top.

You better tell them they're doing a piss poor job of pissing off the ocean spirit. From 2006 to 2014 there were only 3 hurricanes that made landfall in the US.

However, it could be the ocean spirit thumbing his/her nose at the people who told everyone that hurricanes with the strength of Katrina and Rita were going to become common place due to global warming.
