Multi-window > 10" app, no matter how "not wasted"

That isn't Android, that is Touchwiz. Which means to get it you have to deal with Touchwiz and all its flaws (kiddie looks, slow updates, etc.) And it only works with certain apps unless you root. Not a slam dunk by any means, especially now that the iPad can do it to.

You could use Samsung tabs or the Acer ones. Those are popular for tabs with cellular. They are quiet useful when you'll just use it for the basics.

This isn't some abstract discussion, we're talking specific devices.

You're knocking TW for kiddie looks and recommending an iPad? Let's be serious now.

Most big apps now actually *do* support multiwindow natively (thanks to huge market share). For the rest, you don't even need to root, just use this app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mobi.xperiacle.multiwindow.enable

As far as updates, security stuff does get updated, and since Google hasn't improved the Android tablet experience since ICS (JB actually made it worse on stock Android devices)...

especially now that the iPad can do it
When that feature goes live, every current iPad will find itself outdated due to lack of RAM.

Touchwiz is a taste. Samsung's update model bugs me more. I get not caring in the moment though, with Lollipop being Android's Vista.

Nice you don't need root.

Works fine on an iPad Air 2 with its 2GB of ram (same amount as Nexus 9 and many Galaxy tabs).
