Just got my HD coupon in the mail today. Expires 10/31/03. $200 maximum discount.

Just a FYI to anyone in the midwest who has a Menards nearby, Menards will accept HD coupons, so if you want something there, you can most likely use this coupon.

See that photo of the light (3 bulb on a pole) at the site? I bought one of those at HD for about $10 a couple months ago. It was on sale and I saw it in an ad with my newspaper or in the mail. It was much nicer than I expected and well worth the money. It's a self assembler, naturally, but only took about 10 minutes to put together if that.

I just got through (I mean this morning!) making my own window screen, what a job! It's custom and I don't think I could have bought one that fit that window. It'll keep the mosquitos off me on warm nights. Made it out of wood, aluminum screening, and I painted the thing very carefully. When I replace all my windows with sound/thermal insulating double panes, hopefully I'll be able to buy ready made screens to fit them.

Just a quick update on this thread for those "hardcore" AnandTech folks that would like to save 10% on every major purchase at Home Depot. Most HD stores are now implementing "pro" desks for special orders for contractors. Sign up for a commercial account with HD and you can save 10% off every* purchase. This is a great deal for someone involved with a major home renovation.

* - every is a bit limited, because the purchases should be major purchases. They won't give you the 10% off on smaller purchases (e.g. 1 gallon of paint and a box of nails). However, if you are buying big things - bathrooms, hardwood flooring, tiles, etc. - the discount applies to that purchase.

Nope. Didn't get asked for ID but then again I do look like a college student. Picked up a compressor, hose, and some attachments for work with no problemo 😀
Too bad they took two hours to bring it down from the top shelf.
