I got my new burner today...when making bckup of my movies, from my hard disk..i was having a back up time of maximum like 7-8 min on dvd-r .

Now suddently it goes back to 10 minutes per dvd for a full 4.7 gig...can it be because of the dvd brand?

If you are writing images from the HD make sure it is properly defragged before creating the images or it can severly hinder burn speeds.

4.7bg/10min I don't think I could complain about that. How long does a 700mb cd take? 4min? I think you are getting your money's worth.

Its because my first like 10 dvd's were at like 8 min..and suddently my last 3-4 are at 10 min...i found that strange.

I also notince that when i start my dvd, it take a good 45 seconds before it leave the 1% mark and start going up to 2 % etc

that usually happens when your computer is sucking. no joke. defrag, format, whatever, but sometimes that happens to me and its usually not the burners fault.
