No.. it's not that. It's just basic economics. Just like AMD, or Sony, or GE, or any other corporation, the pretty much charge as much as they can for their product, and still be able to sell a certain amount of units. Yeah, wouldn't be right to charge the consumer for a security glitch. If you want to keep your goods, make sure they are tightly guarded en route.
The airport is insured. Intel is insured. Intel will get back their money and then some. Nobody loses here. BTW, if you're interested in a 3.0GHz P4 for $30, call me.
