St. Louis and New Orleans are far worse.

at least these savages are shooting and killing each other and not innocent civilians.
yeah i wouldnt bet on that
Then the hapless tourist turns on the wrong street. BAM,BAM,BAM.Eh. It's just the way it is in lots of cities. There are very specific parts of town that everyone knows are dumps. And you don't go there. Period. Usually all of the shootings you hear about on the news happen in those areas and to people that live/hang out in those places. Don't live or hang out there? No problem.
Then the hapless tourist turns on the wrong street. BAM,BAM,BAM. Or the not so happy hubby pops the wife.... the crips did it.

Them ain't weapons. We're construction workers.Over the weekend police discovered a cache of weapons -- including broken up cinder blocks and homemade weapons -- stashed under some bushes in a downtown park near the security zone, Sgt. Burrows said.

I can understand New Orleans with all the poverty created by Katrina but St. Louis is a shocker.
So the handgun ban is working?
East St. Louis is a 3rd world country.
btw I am curious how these places compare to Kandahar.
Unless you're the unhappy hubby I mentioned.🙂My wife and I were just talking about taking a short family vacation to Chicago.
Scratch that idea!
Restrictive Gun Laws only protect gangs and criminals, because it prevents law abiding citizens from defending themselves. Gun laws won't magically remove firearms from the hands of criminals, these incidents are pretty much proof.

anyway, sad story. was also a particularly bad weekend in Baltimore. about a dozen shootings and 3 deaths. summers are dangerous (well, more dangerous) if you're in the drug trade. maybe cities should be banning BBQ's and promoting AC rather than worrying about guns.
Is this so normal in Chicago that it doesn't make the national news?
One Natalee Holloway is worth 50 dead black people. So if there'd been around 50 dead black folks in Chicago over the weekend (plus or minus a few), there "probably" would have been at least some Nancy Grace action going on.
This crap doesn't happen in the typical tourist'y parts of town. And it doesn't happen in the 'burbs. It's in a part of town that you only get into by accident. And then you promptly turn around and GTFO.
