omg...Costco SUCKS...I spent $60 on 28 8x10 photos and all of them turned out way way (did I say way?) too dark. Those idiots knew nothing about resolution or anything. These same photos 1600x1200 from walmart.com online looked exceptional. Never again gonna use Costco for photo processing. They're good for other stuff though.

Sorry it took so long to reply, my internet connection has been flakey the past couple of days.

This is not for the Kodak DIY, we went there to do it on the Kodak machine but it wouldn't work so the person working in the photo center said that she could do it for cheaper but it takes longer, about 20 minutes. We got doubles of 18 pictures which came to $2.70, 15c for each double. The store is a SuperCenter in Beloit, WI.

I've had prints done at Walmart. The quality was quite good, but I don't like the fact that they only print on matte paper. Personally, I prefer glossy prints. The 8x10s used to be $1.99 but are now $2.99. Also, 8x10 is the largest paper size they offer.

Okay, so am I the only one who's confused here?

Katana: 10-cents or 15-cents per print?
Like Airmail1 asked: Were these a second set of prints (which fall under a different pricing category) or reprints?

"Doubles of 18 pictures" To me that sounds like 36 prints. 36 prints for $2.70?

My head hurts...

I went to WalMart the other day and their Software couldn't recognize my pictures because they were in TIFF format. Does anyone out there know a B&M store who's software can recognize TIFF format.

Thanks

This thread makes no 'cents' at all and should be deleted by a mod.

Prices are clearly ~30 cents at WalMart and not a dime.

Wow, that's a deal. The Wal Mart here charges 46 cents to do 4x6s through the Kodak Picture Maker. The quality sucks compared to the 20 cent 4x6s at Sam's Club they print with a Fuji mini digital lab.

While prints are great to share... we found that we look way more often at our digital pictures then we ever do with our paper pictures. But I'll guess I have to try and see how good they really come out.

My walmart accepts tiffs, as long as they are 8bit tiffs, not the newer 16bit type.

After seeing the Robin Williams movie "One Hour Photo" last week, I'm too freaked to give my pics to anyone for developing. :Q

i heard that they use "matte" paper and not the glossy, but the 10 cents print deal is real. Just YMMV like the title says

Why the hell is this getting so complicated?

Go to Walmart.com, go to the photo center, upload your photos to the website, choose which ones you want printed, choose a Wal Mart near your house to have them shipped to FOR FREE, wait a few days, go pick them up.

26 cents for each 4x6.

I wouldn't recommend using photoworks for printing. I got a bunch of prints from them and all had very dull colors. Try shutterfly and you can get a bunch of free prints by referring friends.

I think it's complicated because the subject line says that the prints are "10 cents for each 4x6" but what other people pay (including you and even the original poster) for their 4x6 prints at WalMart seems to vary from person to person.

This is one of those deals where "my mileage has varied" (MMHV)!

29 cents each at my Walmart.

as someone who shoots for a living i can honestly say that dothpoto's prints are pretty crappy... their machines refuse to recognize embedded icc profiles... this isn't much of a problem for most people, but it is for me since the standard srgb does not offer a wide enough gammut for some photos... even when saving the files with srgb the results were off on color, way off... regular prints come out a bit darker and murkier than needed... the prints that were meant to be darker come out with their highlights blown out... in general it looks like dotphoto runs a very generous auto-levels command on all images before printing... this may work well for some, but it pretty much ruins most of my prints... i ordered though them 3 times, and will never do so again...

walmart has been hit or miss for me... i was dissappointed with online prints, but when shooting a tournament in Pa i needed some quick 4x6's and the local walmart did a fantastic job... the kid behind the counter knew exactly what i was asking him and did a great job... the girl at the local walmart (long island) had no clue and the prints came out terrible...

if you guys are looking for a cheap good printer, the place to try is epixel.com... i've had great results with the place... they use a Fuji Frontier printer with crystal Fuji paper... pretty much the same setup as Walmart and dotphoto, but they seem to know what they're doing... it's $0.25 per 4x6, which is all i print from them... i think they have photo sharing and album services as well, but by the looks of them that's not where they get their business... 8x10's are $3.00 which is more than some other places, but the quality is dead on... i've uploaded tiffs there, both 16 and 8bit and they didn't seem to have a problem... one of my colleagues prints just about everything there, i've seen some of his 30x40's and the print quality is great... the results are consistent from all 3 cameras i use (canon 1d, d60, d30)...

I've used them twice. I have a couple of hundred pics left out of my 400 4x6 I purchased at around $70. I would rate the quality as decent. For the price I would rate them a good value, but I wouldn't pay big bucks for large prints to hang on the wall. I have a canon G2, and I KNOW many of the pics I've taken are loaded with detail and colors that just don't show up through the prints I received. With that said, all of my family have been impressed with the final result when compared with there standard film cameras. My sister has the same camera and has used dotphoto as well. Her pictures seemed to come out better than mine as far as color and brightness. My pics seemed a bit washed out on the prints but not on the digital image. Then again, I could have an inferiority complex

ofoto (best quality)
shutterfly (very good quality)
dotphoto (good quality)

what kind of paper does walmart use? is the quality comparable to shutterfly?

If you are a MOD - please change this thread title - WalMart does not have 10 cent 4x6 prints...

I mean... they will eventually own the world and no doubt will offer 10 cent 4 x 6 digital prints... but not yet.
