Question is too general to have any other answer. Egg != chicken egg. :p

right, fish were laying eggs millions of years before chickens came about. Unless you are a young earther, then the chicken and the egg came about at exactly the same instant.

I hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate how anytime you see someone saying "life begins at conception" there is ALWAYS a religious tie to it:

What about those who believe life begins at conception but aren't religious!?

Does anyone who isn't deeply religious actually believe that? It doesn't make much sense without positing a supernatural soul.

I just realized how  this is. I shall post anyway because I mean it.

Yes, I do.

Care to explain your position? Edit: Maybe Via PM, so we don't make the thread asplode. ;)

me too, but i probably have a different defination of 'life' then you. it is 'alive' like part of my cell.

I am one of those persons.

Cool, glad to see someone else on here is! :) I just wish people would get it out of their head that not all people who believe life begins at conception are pro-life, AND not all of them are religious.

You're still not doing so hot on the WHY. WHY is a cluster of cells which is a thousand times less complex than the brain of a fly, stuck to an ovarian wall... considered a human life?

those people aren't versed on the actual scientific arguments (yes, there are several), so are just as uninformed about this concept as are the religious.

Meh. While there are some valid arguments here (i.e., does god exist?), things like creation vs. evolution are hardly debatable. Evolution is a fact regardless of the existence of a god.

I also think some of the arguments were poorly worded. For example, the gun control argument:

It?s not guns that kill people, it?s the bullets. In America, citizens have a right to bear arms, which has proven to be dangerous for many other citizens and police over the centuries since the country?s birth. On the other hand, large portions of the gun-toting population are careful citizens who have never crossed the law. Why should one group?s rights to bear arms be stripped away because another group feels unsafe? Or why should they be allowed to bear those weapons of death among a land of peaceful citizens?

Proven to be dangerous? Weapons of death? Give me a fucking break.
