It seems that some people are saying this model is being discontinued. Strange, seeing as how this camera was just release 6 months ago.

Bleh, it showed as backordered also. Well my paperclips aren't backordered! Any idea how long OM takes on backorders?

I ordered this camera during a similar deal in September. The camera was placed on backorder and was shipped 10 days later .... hope it?s the same in this case.

for what its worth, I have a backorder on my e-mail, yet an arrival date of October 14th. so who knows.

Best Buy's got it for $249 this week also... Looks like the average retail is dropping from $299 to $249.

I have an arrival date of October 8th, but at then end of the email it says all items that are not backordered with be shipped out while those that are backordered will be shippe dout later. So, what are they going to ship my .29 paperclips, then the $200 camera later?

No camera for me today- $200 was too sweet of a price, but $250 is just meh...

Nope, this was my first attempted "hot deal" 🙁 I was in the midst of calling 3 stores, and I couldn't remember the store I had called to verify that... I called 4-5 around here. The store that did honor it though didn't have any in stock either.

What a Crock of s*&t Looks like omax is not going to be getting any in soon and the B & M stores in my area dont have any either. Guess I'll wait til Wed 10-9 and see if they get any in stock, and then order from dell if they dont. Really sucks since we would get the 64mb card from omax. Very strange that they dont have any stock on an item thats in the weeks add.

I ordered this before it was removed from the web site.

My guess is that we'll get cancellation e-mails tomorrow. If no B&Ms have the camera, then where are they being stored at, especially if they're being discontinued. If the A40 is OOS, I hope they don't send me the envelopes I ordered to bump it over $250.

Chances are if you have an early delivery date like I do, Oct 8th, that they will send just your envelopes, then IF they get any cameras they send that out later. I ordered .29 paperclips, I go the email that the camera is back ordered, but my paperclips will be shipped out on the 8th.

I called 4 Office Max's in my area, 3 of them didn't have the camera in stock. 2 of them said they weren't getting any in stock because it was being discontinued and the other one said to try back thursday they didn't know if it was being discontinued or not. The fourth Office Max had 2 available, I had ordered also on Saturday before they took it down, but the camera showed up backordered and was to be delivered on the 8th. So I went into the 4th Officemax and showed them my Online order, they matched and called to cancel my order online while I was at the store. So I walked out with a sweet camera.

I called 2 stores in my area. The first had only the display model, but claimed they were expecting more stock Friday.

The second store has it in stock. I think I will print the online receipt and try to buy it there. Will they accept the coupon just based on the on-line receipt?

I live in Minnesota and it seems no Officemax or Officedepot will accept any online pricematch or coupons. Seems like they're catching on.

By their own website, they don't have to so it is always up to a manager's discrection:
