Doesn't the damage depend on the depth of the epicenter? Less damage if it's deeper?

"By the time the left hand has figured out what the right hand is doing, this will explode in all our faces!!" - The President.

.... I don't even know what to say to that...

the acting and writing in this is rediculous.

they are using the same camera angles and tricks as 24 and the same seriousness. but, its about an earthquake and the"president" is reacting as if it was a nuclear bomb.

way to go nbc!

yeah that's what i'm thinking....

This move is teh suck. I think the budget for this thing was probably like 95% marketing, 4% crappy actors, and 1% crappy Tandy T1000-powered special effects.

But, I'm a cheapskate, so since I'm not watching the Sopranos until a buddy with HBO tapes it for me, I'm watching this instead :)

The richter scale is a log equation. To have a magnitude of 10.5. The intensity (The actual quake) would be thousands of times stronger than a quake with a magnitude of 8. In other words...it impossible.

from what i read.. they try to use a NUKE to stop the earthquakes.

silly fools. a nuke along a fault line will CAUSE an earthquake.. not stop it.

did noone see superman? that was lex's plan.. detonate a nuke on san andreas.

My geology teacher told us in class this semester than with each increase of 1 on the Richter Scale, the magnitude is 30 times the previous number. So, a 9 is 30 times as powerful as an 8 and a 10 is 900 times more powerful than an 8. Intensity and magnitude are not the same thing, btw.

"Maybe this wasn't an aftershock!"
"Excuse me?"
"Maybe this was a quake with it's own epicenter!!!

BRILLIANT!!!
