I seem to remember that always being there.

I think previously it was only available by right clicking on the Dock Icon. The option was present, just kinda halfway hidden.

works well on hackintosh?

Yes but you have to do some tweaks while applying the update: (i.e. don't download from Software Update)

http://netkas.org/?p=50

kaly has released a 10.5.2 combo update and also a kernel update for 10.5.2 for hackintoshes, check it out , its on the bay

What Leopard Graphics Update? As we have the same laptop you have listed, can you point
me in the direction.

Thanks!

np! just run software update again after you installed 10.5.2. it should show up and be ready to download/install/reboot.

Yup, after the 10.5.2. I had the graphics update and also an iLife update (something about shared components).

I just hope Apple is taking these wireless issues seriously. Some of the apologist posters in that thread are quick to blame dlink, linksys, etc, for what is obviously a screwup released in 10.5.2

haha, yea... that guy William in that thread seems to think its impossible that it could be apple's fault, completely ignoring what everyone else is saying.

For some reason, wireless is just somehing apple has never done an amazing job with, as there seems to be connectivity issues of some sort with nearly every one of their systems.

hehe Yeah that William is quite the character. I don't really think any wireless implementation is great! Wireless itself has a long way to go before it can compete with wired lan. With 10.5.1 I get a decent solid connection with an occasional hiccup, and I am fine with that. 10.5.2 seems to have turned Wireless N upside down completely and even knocks routers into a non responsive state. From the fixes the thread mentions it appears to only be a timing issue, so hopefully a quick fix will follow.

I like that they put in the option to have the dock work in lists, but it doesn't work quite the same way it did before 10.5.

I would like to right-click to show a list and left click to open the folder. I guess no matter what you do you cant make 100% of the people happy 100% of the time.

Apple will ignore your wireless problem publicly until they release a fix. It'll just show up as 'Apple Airport Driver 1.5' or some such thing. LIke they did for the keyboard outages on MacBook Pro's following 10.5's release.

After the update I'm having some slowdown at startup and loading the desktop - I don't have anything on my desktop aside from a Parallels icon and 2 word docs. Are there programs that I can use to optimize that somehow?

If you mean the first reboot, then Spotlight is probably just indexing all the new files.

If it's recurring, then I'd like to know an answer myself. Experiencing heavy disk I/Os from time to time although I don't have too much open; on occasion it's the slow startup that you refer to.
