Hi,

Here is the story. I wanted to to have my new Server and Workstation in a seperate room then the rest of my computers. What i wanted to do was to run 1 network cable from Room A (DSL/Cable Router) to Room B (server/workstation). I put 2 Network cards in my Server so it would have went from Router -> Server -> Workstation. Now i wanted to start up Internet Sharing on the server to allow my Workstation to get Internet access but when i select the second card to be used for Internet Sharing it says it will put in the address of "192.168.0.1" Problem is... thats the address of the Router. I do not want to run another cable threw the house and i do not want to buy a Hub when i already spent the cash on a second network card.

Anyone know how i can get past this problem?

Wait a second.

With a router, you should be able to share without a server. With my DSL router, all machines behind it share the net connection -- I don't need any additional software or equipment because of the router. If there is something specific you need on the server, that's one thing, but hooking up the router to the server doesn't make any sense.

You don't want the server to act like your router. Which is basically what you have done by enabling internet sharing (Although technically its not acting like a router)
Yes you should spend the $10-$15 and get a hub.
So the cable comes from the router to the hub and then breaks off to the server and your workstation.
Otherwise you are trying to make your server act like a hub or switch, which is not a good idea.

Read this from MS MS support article
explaining some of the things that can happen when using two nics in the same machine on the same network.

The whole point of having a router in the first place is so you don't need Internet Connection Sharing. Why did you buy one if that's what you wanted to do? Anyway, you can either buy a hub for the router and plug both machines into it, OR you can deep-six the router, and connect the server directly to DSL.
