I used to like papa john's but they started going with that dry ass peperoni like every other pizza joint. Apparently people don't like greasy pizza and I guess they think the dry peperoni is somehow better for them. I'm from WV, home of the peperoni roll so I'm picky when it comes to peperoni.

We have a Genos that has greasy pizza. I haven't ate there for years. I pretty much ate it every day at lunch in high school. Those were the good ole days.

Lemme help. First, it is some local place that no one but him has ever heard of. Second, they probably have some kind of bullshit "artisanal" or masturbatory dough process that was brought from the "old country" through Staten Island at the turn of last century. Then, the tomatoes are some kind of hand cultivated, sunlight jizzed version that they leave the bird shit on to add "full flavor" to the sauce. Finally, the cheese is "hand crafted" from rare, albino bulls and aged for 2.742 years in a special cellar in a basement where some asshole dances and tells people to put lotion on their skin or get the hose again.

The only issue I have with Papa John's (and it is more due to my local franchise) is that it is very erratic. Some nights, the pizza is really good. Other nights, the pizza is very "meh" and tastes like reheated junk.

No, Mark is right and his rant was perfect. Every food thread involving a chain here typically devolves into:

1. "Well my local restaurant is better!"
2. "I've been to {insert country}, and this is nowhere near authentic!" <-- This one pisses me off the most. I've been to more countries than most of ATOT and you'll never ever hear me use this stupid statement.

Fine ATOT, we get it -- if you want to discuss your local restaurant, make a fucking thread about it. If you want to discuss another country's food, make a thread about it. This particular thread is discussing a chain and pizza in the US.

Good for PJ's, though this is nowhere near a good enough reason to eat their horrible pizza. I don't really understand why anyone, other than in rural areas, would eat any chain pizza - there is pretty much always a better local pizza place in most neighborhoods. There are better pizza places but many don't deliver and some are quite a drive. If I'm tired from work and don't want to leave the house, my choices are: Papa John's, Domino's, Pizza Hut, and a smaller chain called Fox's Pizza Den, which I haven't had the chance to try yet. At least of the first three, Papa John's is probably my favorite (when they're "on," that is); Domino's seems more consistent, however.

Once somebody is fleeing, it's a struggle proving self defense if you shoot them in the back. At that point you're no longer defending yourself (because the threat is retreating), you're after vengeance. That's what most self defense classes teach... it's not just about how you defend yourself but also what's legal. It's never clear cut and each state might be different, but what you're describing doesn't sound like self defense anymore.

It has nothing to do with the pizza. In these situations, the person that is defending themselves or the company property is usually fired. They are saying support papa johns because they did not fire this person for defending herself against a piece of shit criminal.

The first point is entirely false. I know someone who delivered pizza for Papa Johns and they got the delivery fee, and always complained about it because people wouldn't tip due to the fee being on there (and a lot of times it was barely enough to cover gas).

Honestly his whole ideology on passing the ACA costs onto his customer's and employees and bitching about it openly is enough to put me off his craptacular pizza.

What if you ordered delivery from you favorite place, but the employees fear for the job while defending themselves and are robbed (possibly killed) on way to deliver your food. You will never get that pizza. When ordering pizza, reliability of delivery is a big factor.

I don't order delivery pizza. The place I usually order pizza from doesn't deliver and it is only a little over a mile from my house so I just drive down there to pick it up and it is totally worth it. :wub:

Besides, it is illegal to carry a weapon here and almost impossible to get a concealed carry permit. If pizza delivery guys are carrying guns here they're breaking the law. Even so, I can't recall the last time I heard of a pizza delivery person being robbed in this area.

Just checked yelp and the place I go for pizza has 4.5 stars while Papa Millionaire's has 2-3 stars at all the locations around here.
