how come the guy didn't fire back if he already had a gun in hand? Why do they simply run away? As a victim on the ground, I'd wait until after they were trying to get away. At least then my chances of ducking and dodging would be much greater than if sitting on the ground right in front of the guy. He thought being a big man with a gun he could rob a defenseless woman, but once he realized what he was dealing with it was probably a natural instinct for him. Also, I've read that being the second person to draw a gun can actually be advantageous if the first person isn't just about to fire, the idea being that they will be so surprised in the moment of realization that the second person already going through the actions of drawing to fire will come out ahead. Not sure if that's extremely common though.

Papa John's is owned by an evangelical Christian so maybe born again types like him are drawn to the chain in support of the whole personal savior born again thing. I'm not very religious btw although raised as a Lutheran.

Very cool story! That piece of trash got what he deserved!

And I don't care about the PJ haters, I love me some Papa John's...especially that garlic butter sauce they include for crust dipping! This coming from a guy who grew up an hour from the best pizza city, Chicago. And don't get me wrong, I know, and regularly enjoy, good quality pizza which is plentiful around here. But once in awhile, when I want cheap pizza, PJ's is the way to go!

This is really all that matters.

I'd think that depends on the person and situation. someone who is just using the gun for intimidation and has no plans to actually shoot someone - its probably more likely.

Lemme help. First, it is some local place that no one but him has ever heard of. Second, they probably have some kind of bullshit "artisanal" or masturbatory dough process that was brought from the "old country" through Staten Island at the turn of last century. Then, the tomatoes are some kind of hand cultivated, sunlight jizzed version that they leave the bird shit on to add "full flavor" to the sauce. Finally, the cheese is "hand crafted" from rare, albino bulls and aged for 2.742 years in a special cellar in a basement where some asshole dances and tells people to put lotion on their skin or get the hose again.

I was going to get beer in the AM on a weekend and he's standing on the corner @ the Texaco with a pizza box.

It was OK..
I told him it was good...

I don't really understand why anyone, other than in rural areas, would eat any chain pizza - there is pretty much always a better local pizza place in most neighborhoods. Because it can be had for $6 for a large.... anymore than that then the pizzs is not worth it. If we need cheap and quick... it is edible. $12 to feed a family of 5. The local place here costs about $30.... but man it is damn good pizza and is the main goto place.

I'll ignore most of that because the main point is the last one.

If he's only adding a 0.15 cent (which reads as 0.15 percent of 1 cent and not 15 cents) per order increase then it's obvious that it wouldn't take much for him to support health care coverage for his employees and makes me wonder why the fuck he wasn't doing it anyway (as healthy employees would help maintain business). Hell if it only takes a 15 cent increase that's still pretty fucking good and is nowhere close to the "OMG it'll bankrupt us" horseshit that some people claimed the cost of providing health care would be on businesses. So if he's trying to argue about how it's such a burden then yeah fuck him as that's nothing. Unless the person that made that infographic is just a moron and somehow put 15% as 0.15 cent, or who knows what the hell else might explain that part.
