Cravings are a thing of the past. Well, not entirely but they ain't nothing these days. I can't believe the money I'm saving! I put $20 a week in a coffee can...$80 so far! But I think I better take that money and buy some Slim Fast with it. Gained 9 lbs since I quit. 🙁

...sure don't miss cleaning the yellow/dingy/soot off the monitor. 😀

Congratulations, at a month you are definitely past the most difficult time, now it's all maintenance and it just keeps getting easier.

Know what you mean about the weight though, your metabolism slows down a bit from not smoking, plus one can tend to eat more to compensate for not having a cigarette to occupy them. You can offset this a bit by crunching on veggies, drinking more water and doing some exercise, you'll start to feel better too.

Hey, way to go! I agree the first month is the hardest.
I have been smoke free for 17 months and have gained about 20 lbs😱
But when i exercise i can breathe now, just need to do a little more of it.

Congrats, keep it up.

I love having clothes that don't smell like cig smoke anymore. 😀

Way to go! Keep it up!!!

I was a smoker for 15 years and finally made up my mind to quit earlier this year. Haven't smoked a cigarette since 01/17/02.

What really helped me a lot was reading this page and this page whenever I'd get an urge to smoke.

Thanks peeps. Another positive about is I don't have to listen to the wife's constant nagging about it. 😉

I gained about 20 lbs when I quit too....but that is 18 years ago. Congrats to you and you are now home free! This is something to be really proud of because it is so hard to quit. If you can do this, you can do anything. 😉
