I do not need to share anything beetween these computers and just use them one at a time but would like to be able to use 1 dialup modem from 4 different machines.
Have had NO luck getting a network up and running.

if it internal your looking at alot of work, if external you could just switch it from one computer to another..
 
SMC barricade router has a serial port to hook a external up to. It should work. I know it works good for me but I'm using a cable modem into the WAN port.

Thanks I will go look at that I have 56K dialup that is all that is available here I pay $25.00 for 200 minutes. Pretty sad HuH.
