1 last question for A7N8X Deluxe

hey i was just wondering...a PSU has a great impact on how a pc will perform correct? because i have a Asus A7N8X and a ATI Radeon 9700pro and i get constant freezes and all these errors when i put the 2 components together. i have read the other posts and they seem to be having an excellent time with the 2. im starting to feel that im the only one thats having problems.. currently im using a 300w generic PSU. maybe i should upgrade? if i do, which should i get? enermax? antec? how much watts? i will upgrade soon hopefully. system specs in sig. thanks a bunch. bye

also what bois version should i use? i am not into overclocking at the moment, just a nice stable bios version...im using 1001.g right now. should i keep it or no?

i had to switch video cards to install windows ME. so im using a Geforce2 MX400 64mb instead of Radeon 9700pro.

idle:
+5v is 4.811
+12v is 12.608
+3.3v is 3.328

Antec TruePower 430, Sparkle Power 400W or Enermax 430W. The reason your GF4MX is working where the Radeon 9700 Pro isn't, is probably the reduced power draw of the GF4MX. Also, you probably know this already, but the Radeon 9700 Pro has an auxiliary power plug you've got to use... in this photo it's on the lower right corner of the board, for example.

There's your answer...+5V = 4.811 and probably fluctuates. PCI, AGP and other plug-in periphs run off the +5V rail. Even though the Radeon9700pro has an external floppy connector for power, my guess is that's where your problem lies (not to mention your install went fine with a GF2).
