1 IP for 2 NICs

Has anyone been successful(or know anything about) with installing 2 NICs and assigning them both the same IP? I know 3COM has a NIC that allows them to work in conjunction on the same IP. What are some NICs that are capable of this?
Thanks

Windows XP is supposed to be able to do it natively, but I think there are programs that will bind two NICS to one IP. THey key word here is binding, I beleive.
