Ok, I'd like to know if there is a difference between have a HDD and ROM chained with the same cable or if it is better to have each of them running on their own. Any ideas?
 
If you only got the two IDE drives it's best to have them as masters on their own cable.
 
The reason it is better to separate them is that they can be accessed simultaniously, whereas, if they are on the same channel, they can only be accessed sequentially.
