aknuj, I'm not saying that someone won't answer you, but you'd probably get a better response if you asked in the CPU/Overclocking forum or the mobo forum. There shouldn't be anything stopping you from overclocking one of these except maybe heat. I wouldn't expect to overclock it too much though, because it's already at a pretty fast speed. I would look at the Abit or MSI Pro2A motherboards if you are looking to overclock. Both of these will allow you to change the voltage and cpu multiplier in the bios. I'm no expert though so don't listen to me, go to the other forums and listen to the real overclockers.

better yet, buy 2 1.1 ghz retails from onvia, use $50 coupon, to get it to $464 for both, sell one on e-bay for $300 and bam you got your 1.1 ghz for $165

yeah go check the completed auctions, some from like 3 days ago were still selling for $350. Buy.com and onvia both sell retail box

This post needs to go away. I ordered a Duron 800 from Atacom (Don't order from them) and paid 114.95 plus their horrendous shipping. Anyway, this post reminds me of that fact so please buy your 1ghz processors and shut up about it. On the upside, I only spent 100 bucks for a decent processor, I would have been LIVID if I had paid 256.00 for a 1ghz T-Bird only to have the price fall 60-70 bucks. Oh well, I will just have to build a new computer sooner than expected...

compuplus sucks a$$
you couldn't pay me to order from them again
they're the rudest bunch of people i've ever dealt with.
I ordered a video card awhile back and it came defective.
they made me pay shipping charges back to them + shipping charges for the new card as well
after arguing with them, they just told me either to take it or leave it.
A month ago, my friend (without asking me) ordered a hdd from them
as usual it came DOA and they tried to pull the same stunt with him that they did with me
after i threatened to dispute the whole amount as well as goto small claims court (probably wouldnt have but wouldnt hurt to tell them 🙂 they finally changed their tune and gave my friend free overnight shipping.
They are the worst online company i've ever dealt with IMO

I bought a harddrive from them 6 months ago. Shipping was not excessive and I received the item ontime and intact... at a really good price. Its easy to like a dealer when nothing goes wrong thou.

Slot dead? Thunderbird slots are still being pumped out by AMD; and they are not nearly as fragile as the sockets. The slots t-birds can only be found as OEM, not retail however, because they only work reliably with certain slot motherboard with irongate chipsets.

Most of the processors Buy.com sells are retail boxed.....

As for Comp-U-Plus, I've ordered from 3 different times and they have always delivered the correct product on time and their shipping charges were not as outrageous as some other online shops.
