1 g Celeron = to what speed P3?

Pretty much what Sonic Tron said... that is assuming your talking about the standard 1 ghz Celeron with 128k cache. Probably around a PIII 800 or 850 mhz equivelent.

However, if you are talking about the 1 ghz Celeron with 256k cache, that IS a Pentium III in just about every way possible except for two things. There is no 133 mhz FSB version, which PIII would have, and SMP has been disabled so you can't make a dual processor system out of it. Otherwise, it should benchmark identical to a 100 mhz FSB PIII. The 256k cache variety is refered to as a Tualatin cause it's made on the .13 micron die process and uses less power and has good OC potential.

I just so happen to have one of these new 1.0A Celeron 256K chips in route.. I'm hoping for a good overclock with it.

What would be the most optimal board for this?

maybe the Asus TUSL2-C ??

How does one tell if the 1.0 gig Celeron does in fact have the 256K of cache as opposed to the older 128k?

The Intel site says that only the 1.2 Gig Celerys and up have the 256K. What am I missing here?

Any help on this issue would be much appreciated since I'm seriously considering purchasing a 1.0 Gig Celery in the next few days.

There are Tualatin Celery 1Ghz and 1.1Ghz. Tualatin Celery 1.3Ghz has just been out recently. Be sure you see the label with Tualatin. Then you got yourself a 256k L2.

here's what you want..

Good deal....

Thanks for the info...

Do you have plans to O/C it? If you do, please keep me posted on your results....

Good luck....

I do plan on overclocking it soon..

its basically experimental, since these things come at such a good price..

$80 freaking bucks.. thats it..retail box.. what more could you ask for..

Still debating on which board to use this one, that would give me the best chance of 133FSB with stability.
