Hi,
I was looking at upgrading my pc and was wondering if any motherboard manufactures makes single CPU motherboards with 64bit PCI slots. I have a Adaptec 29160 and would really like to take advantage of it. Dual Processors is not out of the question but I was hoping to to keep the cost of this round of upgrades down. Any tips or recommendations would be welcomed.'
Thanks
D

How many scsi HDs do you have? Because it is not going to make a difference if you only have 1 or 2. If you have multiple U-160Hds, you should be able to afford the dual cpu mobo anyway ;)

I've yet to see one.

And for what it's worth - I have a 29160 in a 64-bit slot and my drive performance numbers are identical to when it was in a 32-bit slot. Maybe if I was doing some sort of Raid via my OS I would see a difference but with my 5 drives independent, there is none.

I have 4 SCSI devices, 2 HD, a DVD drive and a burner. Well if their is no real performance difference then I won't worry about it to much. Now I can focus on getting as much bang for my buck in a single CPU MB.
Thanks
