wat? lolno.
never was, never is.
US gas is amongst the cheapest in the world thanks to subsidies and low taxes. Though some of the big oil producing countries has insanely low costs.

Paging Gayner and Godless? Don't know about goods but gas is over $2 NZD/L so at least I can catch a break there when I chip in gas money.
I'm headed there in May for a month, is gonna be expensive but Australia will really hurt the pocketbook from the looks of things
Absolutely yeah. Good news is that I'm planning to work for a bit, and the wages in Aus are about double what they are in Canada, while goods cost only 50% more.
Damn... And I thought our gas was expensive.
Cheapest that I recalled was $0.17 L ($0.64 CAD per gallon for the metric impaired). The most I ever paid for gas was back in 2007. It was 4.25 a gallon. His highest New Zealand price was $8.24 a gallon.
The average fuel tank in the average care has always been designed to allow a vehicle to travel 300 miles (I know, Ive had 15, and they were all roughly the same).
So my Mercedes would get 21mpg city and cost about $61 to fill up at the 2007 high (when oil was at $150 a barrel). The same fillup in NZ would have cost $117!!!!
Of course I remember when a fillup used to be $12 (83 cents). That was as recently as 1998!
Gas (or petrol as its called here) is at its all time highest at $2.189. 3l of milk is around $3.50 at the moment. A leg of lamb is around $35 per kg
1/4 or side of beef is roughly $4.00lbs CAD here, a leg of lamb or side is roughly $6.00lbs.Thanks for the input. Interesting; my friend in Pukekohe calls it gas. I asked her if New Zealanders referred to it as petrol.
Hmm, milk is a bit more then. Paying about $3.99 CAD for 4L here.
