1.8A C1 Stepping

Since my current 1.8A is on the verge of SNDS, the nice man at the computer store offered to replace it for me free of charge. Despite the fact I purchased the rig last August, and admitted to volt modding and overclocking, he said it was no problem (Feel kind of bad for taking advantage of his kindness). Anyways, I was kind of curious as to the chances of me getting a C1 stepping 1.8A, as the 1.8 is pretty much phased out. If I do manage to get my grubby little paws on one, I was wondering what type of overclock I should expect.

My first 1.8A was a gem, did 2772 before excessive volting killed it, and I want to hit something around 2.6 with 1.6v on the new chip.

P.S: I have purchased 5 computers from this guy in the past year, so hopefully I have paid my dues.

I'd bet money that it will be returned to Intel as a customer return for material defects. I doubt the "nice man at the computer store" will end up losing any money at all.

most 1.8A C1 could do 3.0GHz without changing voltage...i remember someone had it all the way up to 3.5GHz...even without volt-modding...
so good luck

LOL, sad but true

You're chances of *getting* a 1.8GHz NW C1 Stepping are 100% if you get a chip with one of the following SPECs:

C1 Steppings:
SL6E6
SL6LA
SL6S6

So, if this "nice man at the computer store" lets you rummage around his CPU bin, look for one of those.

So you can separate the wheat from the chaff, the 1.8GHz NW Steppings also include:

B1 Steppings:
SL62P
SL62R
SL63X
SL66Q
SL68Q

Hope this helps,

The Pacifyer
