I remember there being some weird loophole where a lot of those sex lines started using 1-800 numbers. Dunno if that's still the case.

Remember that dialing a number that begins with 888 is just like dialing an 800 number; both are often toll-free, but not always. Companies are prohibited from charging you for calls to these numbers unless they set up a valid presubscription agreement with you first

Well, that is true if these guys are obeying the law, but they might not be. I also doubt that all this applies to companies outside the US.

The point is: it's not impossible to be charged for a 800 call, and you have to wonder why someone would go to the trouble of providing pointless free entertainment over the phone. 800 calls may be free to you, but somebody pays for them, and I'm betting they would like something in return.

All this sets off my shens alarm.

EDIT : "The number can not be reached from your calling area" then it hangs up on me.🙁
