I went to school in Vermont where grocery stores often had B&J seconds for a buck a pint. By seconds they meant that the chocolate was too rich, or there were too many fudge chunks...

Those were the days...
 
I get all the BJs I want at home. B&J recipe book and ice cream maker means I can make it at home anytime I want.

Those were the days...

They still do that... but only in Vermont, I think. It's the first and last parts of the run. The ingredients aren't mixed in the "optimal" proportions. Whatever that means. Heheh... I never noticed a difference when I picked up some Ben and Jerry seconds while hiking the Appalachian Trail. "oh wait... this has too much chocolate, I must return it"
