Touch PSU before you work on your computer, don't drag you feel across carpet, and work on non-carpet surface. Just saved you $1.75.

Not always an option. At least I have no plans to move my bench into the kitchen or bathroom.

I've never been affected by static electricity, and for some reason I take no precautions whatsoever. Maybe i'm just lucky.

I bought one for about $5. Never used it. Never had a problem either, but then I don't wear socks and slid my feet across carpeting before working on a computer - LOL.

Because you don't want to waste that $200 (don't tell me you cant it could happen to anyone) when you could have saved it with $1.75, if you don't have $1.75 don't even post in this thread.

plus when you do client builds and it could happen and make me pay for my mistake, witch would suck.

Only a couple of times in the thousand times I have worked on the inside of computers, did I forget to touch the power supply or metal case before doing anything. Even those couple of times, where I did feel a spark, nothing went wrong. Not saying it can't happen, and not denigrating this deal, but it also just as likely as not that you won't remember to put on the anti-static band, the same exact way I rarely forgot to ground myself. So even though you spent the $1.75, it doesn't mean you are going to use it 100% of the time.

Still nice find though. Takes me back to the days of the first 100 or so builds I did when I used one off those. Maybe i'll get one just for shits and giggles and have it in my fishing tacklebox that's been converted into my builders PC toolkit.

Because, I for 1 don't intend to keep a part of my body touching the chassis at all times. Anti-static wrist straps are like a third hand, constantly maintaining an equal charge between me and the chassis. Which of course is the point, not to be "grounded", but to be at an equal charge with the machine you're touching at ALL times to avoid any accidental ESD.
