I just picked up a ABIT BD7-RAID and P4 1.6A. As I read the manual it say AGP 1.5v ONLY or fry mobo. I have an old (but just fine) Diamond ViperII AGP (4x). It fits in the slot just fine and works just fine. But for how long??? If it's not 1.5v will it fry fast or a long and slow death. I haven't had the computer on for very long so can't tell if anything is going or gone bad. I think I'm OK but...
It sucks to find out this 1.5 ONLY stuff.
I might just find another AGP card.
Can any one give me advice on a new card for under or around $100. or should I be fine with my ViperII
If one has video out, even better, But I'm not too worried about video games....

The Diamond Viper II (Savage 2000) is a 1.5V/3.3V AGP card, depending upon the motherboard and AGP spec desired, it'll run perfectly fine at the BD7's 1.5V AGP 4X.

Rand is correct. Hey, he's Elite for a reason, right? ;) :p

The only 3.3V cards I can think of are the Voodoo4/5. I'm suprised that the motherboard doesn't have any fault protection against the AGP volt difference. I personally have an Asus P4B266, but there's a nice red LED that lights up if your AGP card uses a voltage other than the specified 1.5V.

Enjoy!
